About

the

Process

...

1) When I start paintings I always begin by sketching the largest shapes or forms in any color paint. Be messy and fast for none of this should be seen in the finished work.

2) Next I fill in the large swatches of color. Squint your eyes and only focus on high contrasting area. Doesn't need to be completely accurate!

3) Next, I begin to add some basic textures and value changes to the shapes, for example the highlighting lines of hair or subtle changes in skin tone.

It's always a good idea to

document your process

people love to see it too!
